See All ReviewsI had been searching for good Jowar Bhakri in Austin but never found one. Then I discovered Madhuri’s kitchen. I had the Bhaji Bhakri and Pitla Bhakri, both were pretty awesome. Good comforting food! Jowar roti’s are fresh, soft and piping hot. It’s run by a couple who are pretty sweet and homely. 100% recommend.
Had a great experience at Madhuri’s kitchen. Have visited multiple times and food has been excellent every time. The owners are great! Modak, Pitle bhakri, bhaji bhakri are a must try!
Madhuri’s Kitchen truly felt like home on a plate. Maharashtrian food is often simple, understated, and beautifully basic—but that simplicity is exactly what makes it so hard to get right. This place absolutely nailed it. The pithla was outstanding—comforting and exactly how I’ve always had it at home. But the true highlight of the meal was the bhakri, easily the softest I’ve ever had. It was perfect. And the thecha was the cherry on top, bringing the whole meal together beautifully. The sabudana vada was everything it should be: crisp on the outside, soft and light on the inside, and served warm like a hug. A complete 10/10 experience. It gave me a sense of home, thousands of miles away from home.
